City of sleeping dogs (watch where you tread), pigeons (watch where you step), and mad traffic (watch where you walk), but most importantly, a city of warmth.

Genuinely warm, friendly and helpful people, and a rebuilt city for the Olympics, made it a real pleasure to be there. The Acropolis is still a bit overated, although it's location is wonderful. I was here 20 years ago and hated it the city, but now Athens is a wonderful European city.
