| Buenos Aires
A so called "European" capital in South America, based on the fact that 97% of the population have European roots. It's a place not disimilar to the likes of Barcelona, with most of the city built on a grid system. Typically though for this part of the world, there is very low end poverty brushing up against expensive high end fashionable neighbourhoods.
Tango is a huge theme here, not surpringly as it was invented in La Boca's brothels in the late 19th century where poor male immigrants would dance together while waiting for a woman !
This buzzing city has passion, great art and culture, and of course, it helps if you like large slabs of beef and red wine. Also wise to watch where you step as the many dogs leave their mark on the pavements !
