Large swathes of the area might as well be "Little England", as there are times when you simply don't feel like you're in Spain.

Having said that, when you can escape inland, there are some wonderful pockets of history and scenery.

Half of these photos are taken in Old Alicante, which again, does retain some Spanish flavour. We have very good friends with a villa there. Most other people go simply for the sun. Off season is the best season.
