A land mostly consisting of desert, this country now heavily relies on tourism for income. It's mainly Muslim but this tolerent country houses other minority religions too. It's steeped in biblical history too and Jesus is said to have been baptized here.

It has quite a number of refugees from Palestine and Iraq, and the Arab hospitality is legendary.

The lowest place on earth is here, the Dead Sea, and it's salt and mud is said to have rejuvinating properties. The desert scenes in Laurence of Arabia were filmed in the amazing Wadi Rum here.
