Having been colonised during the course of history by the Portugese, French, Spanish and then by the wild Berbers from the desert. Morocco has had a number of influences with French still widely spoken.

Morocco is a hot country, but beer or any alcohol can be hard to find at times as this is a proud Muslim nation. However, it's one which regards itself as one of the most progressive with a number of women's rights in place.

With Marrakesh having become something of a tourist theme park, head for Fes for the real thing.
