Some faces I’ve met
One of the inevitable things about travel photography is taking portraits. I’ll either stand in front of the subject and ask to take their photograph, or I’ll be a little more sneaky and zoom in from distance or by pretend to take something else.
Asking is something of a hit and miss affair. Even my most charming of efforts sometimes gets rejected, usually from their fear of the camera (or me I guess!). Most of these people here know that they’ve been photographed and it’s been acknowledged by a thumbs up, a wink, a nod, a wave, a handshake, showing them the photo, or even a cup of tea and a chat.
Either way, and whatever the arguments for what the definition of portrait actually is, the photographs in this section are here because their face is the predominant part of the picture.
